Don't buy shoes for looks!

This might be a more obvious one, but you'd be surprised how many casual runners fall victim to fly styles from Nike and other top brands. Don't not buy them, just don't buy them for training or running! Here's a great guide from Runner's World:  http://www.runnersworld.com/running-shoes/how-to-buy-the-right-running-shoes

Some warm-ups and stretches are better than others.

Static hold stretching begone! At least as a pre-run routine. Dynamic stretching has been shown to help you run longer & harder. Here is a 4-move, 2 minute warm up to get you going.

Speak up to your doctor

Going into your chiropractic appointment, think back on what's been bothering you on your runs: a sore right hip, a stiff neck, an irritating ankle. Telling the doctor what's ailing you can help in diagnosis & treatment. It's a two-way street! A chiropractor can test typical problem areas, but no one knows your body better than you, so pay attention to what your body is telling you. It's speaking to you, so help relay it's message.
